For some time, it has been on my heart to begin a newsletter that is generated here in the church office. I certainly realize that we do have communication and promotion via the internet as well as the printed page and I cannot express my appreciation enough for Bro. Don Byrd and Bro. Tim Waldrop for the fine job they are doing and trust that they will continue to use these mediums of communication to promote the ministries of our church. Through this monthly newsletter, I hope to take advantage of the information available to us in the church office that may not be available to others, to keep our people informed as well as promote all the ministries of our church.

While we will share devotional thoughts from time to time, this newsletter will be primarily an instrument of keeping our people informed as to what is going on in every phase of the life of the Fellowship Baptist Church. It will also give us the opportunity to promote upcoming events. We hope that will include our music, missions, children and our Youth ministry. It will also include business and promotion with a focus on the future rather than the past. It has long been a conviction of mine that an informed people is always easier to work with and we hope to keep you informed through this means.

This newsletter will be offered to you as a print out and available at our information table each month. A very few copies will be mailed to our home-bound people but the vast majority will have to pick up their copy at the information table. This will continue for the balance of this year with the possibility that it will be electronically distributed or mailed to families in 2009 when we can get our necessary permits, mailing lists, equipment, and budget for it. That decision will be made later. It is hoped that it will be well-received and become a valuable tool in the ministry of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
