Our favorite verse is John 3:16, KJV. Our church provides the materials we study from each week: a quarterly resource kit including a DVD and CD with audio/data, "Lifeway/Preteens" Leader guide - a Bible Teaching Experience and a workbook - BTX Preteen. We strive to practice what JESUS said: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, mind, body and strength." Then He said, "Love one another as I have loved you." We believe in not judging others, but accepting them as they are and praying for each other. We voice our prayer requests at the end of each lesson and end in prayer before dimissing. We stress the Plan of Salvation as used in the VBS slogan, "A, B, and C." That is: Admit, Believe and Confess to accept GOD's Son, JESUS, as our Savior. Visitors are welcome at any time and as often as they can come. We have a relaxed atmosphere in our classroom and we like to celebrate birthdays and holidays. I love to fix special homemade goodies for our students and they love to eat! Please come and visit and/or join us as soon as passible! In Christ's Love, Mrs. Janie Morris, Teacher.
The Youth Department at Fellowship Baptist Church is unified in its purpose and mission - to win the lost to Christ and train the future Christian leaders. One main aspect of reaching teenagers for Christ is the Sunday School Program. The teenagers currently have two classes - 7th to 9th grade, taught by Ken Alsept, and 10th to 12th grade, taught by Dennis Huckaby. The curriculum used in both classes is LifeWay's Life Focus Student (King James Version) lessons written for ages 12 - 17. Youth activities are scheduled monthly; and camp and outreach opportunities are made available throughout the year. The church also gives special recognition to graduating seniors who are members of the Sunday School Program.
I thought the best way to describe the college and career class is to have a few of them tell about it in their own words.
"Attending the College and Career class always makes my week better. The lessons always enhance my understanding of the Bible or show me something I did not notice before. I know this class is helping me grow in my understanding of the Lord's word. The class is also a lot of fun!"
“College and Career Class is lots of fun. We play a Bible Quiz game at the end of our lesson and whoever answers the most questions in a 3 month period wins a gift card to a wonderful restaurant.”
“Sunday mornings in the College and Career Class always puts a smile on my face because I always get so much out of our lesson.”
The Grace Class is an adult class (emphasis ages 45-64) with both men and women. This class uses the Explore the Bible literature series from Lifeway as a guideline for its lesson text, but borrows from many bible scholars, commentators, and preachers of the past and present to then develop a more in depth study of those text verses. The Authorized King James Version is the only bible version taught from and traditional conservatism is appreciated but the scriptures are always “final authority”. The fellowship time before and after class is encouraged as well as occasional special fellowship opportunities during the year. Members are encouraged to participate with questions and comments throughout the lesson time, but are never required to do so. Lesson outlines are distributed by e-mail in advance to allow for pre-class preparation and copies of those outlines are distributed for members to follow along during class and to keep for home study later. While the class time is valued for true study of the scriptures, we all know the best result of our Sunday school experience is the love developed for each other as we share our prayer requests before class and then get to know each other better in the small class setting.
Agape is a group of Christian brothers and sisters in the Lord who love each other with the love of Christ - "agape" - and seek to grow more and more into the image of Christ through the study of God's Word and demonstrating the love of Christ in our daily lives.
The JOY Sunday School class is truly a class of JOY. We are a group of older ladies who love Jesus Christ and each other. We welcome all who come in. Our goal is to study God's word, draw closer to Him and to do His will.
A class of mostly 85 and up who study the Word using Lifeway "Life Works" literature. Also focus on mutual prayer support for friends and family, fellowship together, and the study of God's word.
